Amelia's Magazine and Other Mostly Good Things

First, the good stuff...

I keep forgetting to mention this on the blog, but if you pick up the latest issue of Amelia's magazine, you'll see my illustrations of a bunch of animals around page 11 or so! I got my copies in the mail a few months ago and was super excited about it, and I recently noticed that Barnes and Noble stores here in the states started stocking them last month. It's my first international publication, so I'm really thrilled, and I love, love, love their magazine. If you haven't seen it before, it's a British magazine that is about fashion, music, and art. Check it out if you get a chance, and in the meantime, you can look at the Amelia's website, go to links, and there I am! I'm so excited to have been part of such a cool publication.

I also wanted to show you some pictures of amazing stuff that has arrived in the mail over the past few months...

This was a wonderful trade with the lovely KnitOwl, who makes awesome plush and other goodies, all available in her Etsy shop. She is really nice and so much fun to trade with, and I love reading her blog, too!

I also received some truly amazing stuff from the wonderfully talented and friendly Megan of Moogancreations! She sent these as a get well present after my surgery, and they couldn't have arrived at a better time. She was able to put a smile on my face from all the way across the country!

She sent some awesome original artwork:

She also sent a fantastic grouping of stuff to entertain me: her handprinted lino block cards, plush team stickers and goodies, a cute little notepad and stationary stuff, and a really great issue of ReadyMade magazine (actually, the best issue of the magazine I've ever seen!).

Megan is just too cool for words! I can't even explain how much her surprise present meant to me - thanks for being so kind and for being such a wonderful friend, Megan!!!

And just to update you:
The bad stuff...

I have been missing in action yet again, so of course that means I haven't been feeling so great... I just started up teaching classes again the past two weeks, but I've also been battling a sinus infection for the same two weeks, so it hasn't been easy. The whole reason I had the surgery was so that I'd stop getting these awful things and being sick all the time... Ugh, I hate to be so complainey and whiney on my blog, but I just wanted to let you know what's been going on lately and why I haven't been updating my blog or my Etsy shop. It's so annoying - and just when I think I am getting better...!!
